I tell all my students in Biology on the first day of school the same thing: "This will be the hardest class you take this year." It is the truth. It is not because the material itself is hard, because it really isn't. I love teaching Biology, and I think I make it easy to learn. What makes this class difficult to students is that they have to really work hard to get good grades. That may not seem too hard to understand, but ninth graders are new to high school work. This is not middle school anymore. Rightfully so, a lot more is being asked of the students. Those that rise to the challenge will succeed.

In my twelve years at Colonie High School, I have NEVER had a student not succeed when they did what they were supposed to do.

So, what should the students be doing? Here is a quick rundown of what I feel is important:

-do your homework -ask questions -do your labs on time -review a little every night
-ask questions -participate -do your labs correctly -ask questions
-get extra help when needed -be on time -ask questions -do your homework

If ever you need help, you must LET ME KNOW AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! There are many ways I can help you but I need to first know that you want extra help!
